Start a historical tour around the city, visit the Convent of Santa Catalina, the Cathedral of the City and the Museum Andean Sanctuaries where the remains of the Juanita mummy are kept. Continue with this enigmatic experience by visiting the Colca Canyon and the Sanctuary of the Condor, from where you can see the condors flying very close to visitors.
DAY 1: AREQUIPA: TRANSPORTATION UPON ARRIVAL
At the appropriate time, you’ll be picked up from the airport and will meet with our agent who will explain the details of the tour hired and will provide you with the documents required for your trip. Ride to the hotel you selected. Spare time to rest and get used to the altitude of Arequipa or spend the night there.
DAY 2: CITY TOUR, SANTA CATALINA & CAMPIÑA CONVENT
Breakfast in the morning. At the agreed time, we will go downtown where we will start our journey. First we will visit one of the most impressive architectonic monuments of the city, the Santa Catalina Monastery, a miniature city where the nuns from Arequipa lived for over 400 years. Next we will go to the Main Square surrounded by majestic colonial arcs, and to the impressive Cathedral of Arequipa, where we will witness its amazing works of arts as well as its magnificent structure. We will finish our journey at the Museum of Andean Sanctuaries where we will see the remains of the mummy named “Juanita”, a girl from the Incan aristocracy who was found in the Ampato snow-covered mountainside. Return to hotel. Free night.
DAY 3: AREQUIPA AND COLCA: FULL DAY IN CAÑON DEL COLCA
You will be picked up from the hotel early in the morning to start our 5-hour trip to Mirador de la Cruz del Cóndor from where we will see one of the deepest Canyons of the world; then we will stop by the Sanctuary of the Condor, a place from where we will observe the spectacular flight of the Condor. On our way back, we will stop by the villages of Pinchollo, Maca and Yanque which have beautiful colonial churches, and by the viewpoints of Antahuilque and Choquetico from where we can look at the graves, pre-Incan scale models and the beautiful Colca landscape with its impressive platforms. At noon, we will arrive in Chivay and will head to the thermal springs of Calera. Lunch at a local restaurant. On our way back, we will stop by the Viewpoint of los Volcanes and the Wetlands of Tocra where we will wonder at the diversity of wild birds, and by Pampa Cañahuas (National Reserve of Aguada Blanca and Salinas), home of the vicunas. We will go back o our hotel in Arequipa late in the afternoon. Free night.

DAY 4: AREQUIPA: TRANSPORTATION UPON DEPARTURE
Breakfast in the morning. At the appropriate time, ride to the airport to take the flight back home.
